With warmer weather here, it’s the perfect time to take care of maintenance around your home and yard. Doing so will help you stay cool and comfortable all season.

Keep Cool Inside

If you live in a hot climate, check your central air conditioning or individual units early in the summer. Make sure they work properly before the extreme heat puts stress on the system.

Inspect your windows and recaulk them if needed. This can extend their life and reduce cooling costs. If you need to replace windows, doing it early can save money on both heating and cooling.

Beat the Heat Outdoors

Schedule yard work in the early morning to avoid heat-related risks. Morning gardening also gives you energy for the day.

Water your gardens and lawn in the evening when temperatures are cooler. Plants absorb more water because less evaporates in the shade. If you work outside at night, remember to apply bug spray since many insects are more active then.
