What to Include in a Real Estate Listing

Preparing Your Home Listing

Getting ready to list your home? Whether you work with a real estate agent or list it yourself, including key details will help potential buyers understand your home’s highlights.

Essential Home Details

Bedrooms and Bathrooms: Buyers often filter their search by the number of rooms they need. Include the number of bedrooms, full bathrooms, and half baths.

Square Footage: Buyers also want to know the total space. Clearly separate finished square footage from unfinished areas. This helps them decide if the home meets their needs.

Number of Stories: Include the number of stories, even if exterior photos show it. Mention unusual designs or features like a walk-out basement.

Upgrades and Renovations

Note any major maintenance, upgrades, or recent updates. Include items like the roof, windows, A/C, heating system, and other significant renovations. Even newer homes benefit from showing when big-ticket items were last updated.

Outdoor Space and Amenities

Highlight outdoor areas for entertaining or play. If your home has special features, such as a pool, gazebo, or a finished rec room with a bar, include these to make your listing stand out.

Photos Matter

Many buyers skip straight to photos. Listings without photos may be overlooked. Consider hiring a professional photographer to show your home in its best light. Good images can make a huge difference in attracting buyers.
